Program Note for Fantasy

While the material for Fantasy was generated from classic electronic studio techniques, this work was inspired by early keyboard fantasies and can be viewed traditionally as a composition in which sections of contrasting character are presented in a free form.  Articulate and contrapuntal areas are juxtaposed with more lyrical statements.  These sub-sections occur very quickly at the beginning, and, gradually compressed, they eventually overlap.  The effect is that of an electronic improvisation.
